Aahoo Jahansouz "Sarah" Shahi born January 10, 1980) is an American television actress and former NFL Cheerleader of Iranian and Spanish ancestry. She played Kate Reed in the USA Network legal drama Fairly Legal in 2011–12, Carmen on The L Word in 2008, and also starred as Sameen Shaw on the CBS crime drama Person of Interest. She has also appeared as the main female role Det. Dani Reese in Life, and in a supporting role in Alias.

• شانزده سال است كه نام <آهو جهانسوز شاهي> يا <سارا شاهي> در تيتراژ فيلم هاي تلويزيوني و سينمايي آمريكايي ديده مي شود و بينندگان تلويزيون و تماشاگران فيلم هاي سينمايي چهره جذاب او را در نقش هاي متفاوت مي بينند
سارا شاهي نه تنها در هاليوود چهره اي مطرح و فعال است بلكه مجله معروف ”ماكسيم“ هر سال نام و چهره او را در ليست صد زن جذاب سال 2005 قرار داده است. او در سال 2012 چهارسال پيش مقام سي و ششم را در ليست صد زن داغ ماكسيم به دست آورد
او در سال هاي 2011 و 2012 در سيال فيرلي ليگال درخشيد و اكنون بازيگر نقش <شاو> در سريال جنايي <پرسون آو اينترست> است كه از شبكه تلويزيوني <سي بي اس> پخش مي شود. <سونيا آراگون> يكي ديگر از سريال هايي است كه از او در <اچ بي او> پخش شد
او در طول شانزده سال گذشته در 18 فيلم سينمايي و در 32 فيلم و سريال تلويزيوني بازي كرده و هم اكنون يك سريال تلويزيوني از او به نام مظنون از شبكه سي بي اس پخش مي شود كه بينندگان زيادي دارد
اين همه موفقيت و اعتبار متعلق به دختري است كه از نوادگان فتحعلي شاه قاجار به شمار مي رود و پدرش عباس جهانسوز شاهي از خاندان فتحعلي شاه است كه پس از آنكه بزرگ خاندان جهانسوز به دستور كريمخان زند حكومت دامغان را به دست گرفت فتحعلي شاه از وابستگان پدري عباس جهانسوز شاهي به پادشاهي رسيد
فتحعلي شاه گرچه نوادگان زيادي از ازدواج با بيش از 189 زن از خود به يادگار گذاشته، اما هيچكدام از نوادگان او به مانند آهو جهانسوز سارا شاهي به موفقيت و اشتهار نرسيده است
آهو جهانسوز كه بيشتر به سارا شاهي معروف است مي گويد: ‌ – من در تگزاس متولد شدم. چون پدرم ايراني بود از همان كودكي دلم مي خواست با او فارسي صحبت كنم و او فارسي را به من آموخت. در عين حال از مادرم كه ايراني- اسپانيائي است زبان اسپانيش را آموختم و انگليسي هم زبان اولم شد. اما در تمام مدت به اصرار پدرم زبان فارسي را رها نكردم

 دو سال پيش از انقلاب بود كه وارد آمريكا شد
 برادر و خواهر هم داري؟
 يك برادر بزرگتر از خودم دارم و يك خواهر كه كوچكتر از من است
 چه شد كه به سوي هنر رفتي؟ ‌ ‌
 از كوچكي از ديدن فيلم هاي تلويزيوني لذت مي بردم و دلم مي خواست جاي هنرپيشه ها باشم. پدر و مادرم كه متوجه عشق و علاقه من شدند مرا وارد مسابقات دختران شايسته كردند
 چند ساله بودي؟ ‌ ‌
 هشت سالم بود. در سال نيز1997 برنده مسابقه دختر شايسته شهر “فورت وورث” ايالت تگزاس شدم
براي ادامه تحصيل به دبيرستان ترينيتي رفتم و ضمن كارهاي هنري كاپيتان تيم هاي واليبال و بسكتبال شدم. وقتي وارد دانشگاه شدم رشته زبان انگليسي و تئاتر را انتخاب كردم و چون عاشق بازيگري بودم به طوري جدي به آن پرداختم و در كار مادلينگ هم فعال شدم ‌
 از كدام دانشگاه فارغ التحصيل شدي؟
 دانشگاه <ساثرن متوديست> در شهر دالاس در ايالت تگزاس
 چطور وارد هاليوود شدي؟ ‌ ‌
 يك ملاقات اتفاقي با <رابرت آلتمن> كارگردان معروف داشتم كه برايم هيجان انگيز بود. او بود كه مرا براي رفتن به هاليوود تشويق كرد ‌
 رابرت آلتمن ايراني ها را دوست داشت. زنده ياد رضا بديعي هم توسط او كشف شد و حتي با او نسبت خانوادگي پيدا كرد. البته از طريق ازدواج اول
 بله. انسان هاي شريف هرگز از ياد نمي روند. بعد از اين آشنايي من در سريال هاي زيادي مانند آلياس، بخش فوريت هاي پزشكي، ريبا، فريژر، سوپر نچرال. سنچري سيتي، معلمان، خارج از مركز و سريال هاي ديگر بازي كردم. در هيجده فيلم سينمايي هم بازي كردم كه آخرينش ‌ Dirine Access ‌بود. فيلم هاي قبلي ام كنگره، جاده اي به پالوما، استاتيك، مشكل سگ و ساعت شلوغي بود ‌
 خبر ازدواجت هم همه را غافلگير كرد
بله چون با مرد دلخواهم كه هنرپيشه معروف و مورد علاقه ام است ازدواج كردم و زندگي خوب و راحتي داريم. از <استيو حاوي> هم يك پسر به نام <ويليام وولف> دارم كه هر دو به خاطر داشتن او خوشحاليم ‌
 با ورزش هم هنوز ميانه خوبي داري؟ ‌ ‌
 چه جورم. همه مرا به عنوان يكي از هلهله چيان تيم دالاس كاوبويز مي شناسند
چه خوب كه در كار هنري، هنرمند خوي ورزشكاري هم داشته باشد

Sarah Shahi was born on January 10, 1980, in Euless, Texas, and raised there. She is the daughter of Mah Monir, an interior designer, and Abbas Jahansouz Shahi, who divorced when she was ten. Her father is fromIran. Her maternal grandfather is Persian and her maternal grandmother is from Spain.She has an older brother, Cyrus, and a younger sister, Samantha, who is a production assistant. Her father’s family left Iran two years before the Iranian Revolution.Her father, who was working at the American Embassy in Iran, was slated for execution when the regime collapsed in 1979 but was allowed to flee the country.

 Her birth name, Aahoo  means “gazelle” in Persian. She is a great-great-granddaughter of Fath-Ali Shah Qajar of the Qajar Dynasty, who ruled Iran from 1797 to 1834, by one of his wives, Begom Khanom, daughter of Hossein Qoli Khan Afshar, niece of Begom Khanom, daughter Emam Qoli Khan Afshar, through their son Jahansouz Shah.

Shahi adopted Sarah as her name in second grade after hearing a song called “Sarah” because she was “tormented” by other children about her unusual birth name.At her father’s behest, she grew up speakingPersian/Farsi, in addition to English. Shahi’s parents began entering her in beauty pageants at the age of eight. Shahi attended Trinity High School, where she was captain of the volleyball and basketball teams, and Dallas’ Southern Methodist University, majoring in English and Theater. Shahi won the Miss Fort Worth pageant in 1997. Hoping to become an actress, she joined the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (1999–2000) squad despite not having cheered before and appeared on the cover of the squad’s 2000 calendar before moving to Los Angeles.

While working as an extra on the set of Dr. T and the Women in Texas, Shahi met director Robert Altman, who encouraged her to move to Hollywood,[1] where she received roles in several series, including Alias, Dawson’s Creek, Reba, and Supernatural. In 2005 she appeared in the supporting character role of DJ Carmen de la Pica Morales on The L Word, which she joined in its second season. Shahi’s two-year contract was not renewed after the end of the fourth season, and her character was written out. She also played Farah in the second season of Sleeper Cell, and also appeared in HBO‘s The Sopranos in 2007, in the Season 6b episode “Kennedy and Heidi” as Sonya Aragon, a stripper and college student who spends a weekend with Tony after a death in his family. In 2007, she secured a small role in Rush Hour 3 as Zoe, a scantily clad rich girl who is pursued by Chris Tucker‘s character, Detective Carter.

In 2007, she took on her first permanent leading role on a TV series, co-starring with Damian Lewis in the NBC series Life as homicide detective Dani Reese. The series ran for two seasons.

In October 2009, Shahi landed the lead role in the USA Network pilot, Facing Kate. Shahi began filming in November 2009. The show follows the life of Kate Reed, a legal mediator who is frustrated with the bureaucracy and injustice she witnesses in the legal system. The series title was later changed to Fairly Legal. The show was cancelled after two seasons in November 2012.

Shahi was cast as a recurring love interest for Taylor Kinney‘s character Lt. Kelly Severide on NBC‘s show Chicago Fire in October 2012. She was also cast as the possibly recurring character of Sameen Shaw on Person of Interest. She was featured in the sixteenth episode of the second season, “Relevance”, which aired in February 2013. In May 2013 CBS President Nina Tassler announced that Shahi would be added as a series regular for its third season. She played the daughter of Sylvester Stallone‘s character in the action film Bullet to the Head. Following the January 7, 2015 episode of Person of Interest, Shahi and the show’s producers announced she would be leaving the show for an indefinite period of time because of her pregnancy.

In February 2016, she was cast as iconic detective Nancy Drew in a planned TV series based on the books. In May, CBS passed on the series, and its producers announced they would continue looking for a network to air the show. Also in May, Shahi resumed her appearances as Shaw on Person of Interest, until June 21 2016 when the show ended.

Personal life 

Shahi married actor Steve Howey on February 7, 2009, in Las Vegas. On July 8, 2009, she gave birth to their first child, son William Wolf Howey, during an at-home water birth. In January 2015, she announced that she was pregnant with twins. On March 1, 2015, daughter Violet Moon and son Knox Blue were born during another home birth.

Shahi was named number 90 on the Maxim magazine “Hot 100 of 2005” list, moving up to number 66 in 2006 and 36 in 2012. She appeared on the cover of Maxim‘s 2012 ‘TV’s Hottest Girls’ Issue in October 2012. She ranked number 5 on the AfterEllen.comhot list in 2007.
